FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE MILLENIUM / ΠΟΔΟΣΦΑΙΡΙΚΗ ΟΜΑΔΑ ΤΗΣ ΧΙΛΙΕΤΙΑΣ

In recognition of the remarkable skill and outstanding achievements of the selected fifteen "legends" of the game of football. An Post and the GAA jointly launched the Team of the Millenium in August. With player illustrations by Finbarr O'Connor and design by For Design, the stamps were produced in a special souvenir style sheetlet, mimicking the normal team formation in Gaelic football, with players being drawn from the four corners of Ireland.
